Bressie and Kian’s warfare ‘just banter’

‘THE Voice of Ireland’ coach Bressie has reassured fans there’s nothing scripted about his verbal warfare with Westlife’s Kian Egan.
The former Blizzards frontman insisted: “It’s definitely not an act, there’s nothing contrived about it. If we had to put on an act, I wouldn’t have done the show.

“We’re very different and we’ve completely different approaches to what we’re looking for. Having said that, I’ve a huge amount of respect for him and what he has done, and anything we say to each other is the type of banter you’d get with a mate in a pub.”
Bressie was speaking at the launch yesterday of the Fighting Cancer Triathlon 2012, which will take place on June 16 in his hometown of Mullingar.

Despite his sporting credentials as a former rugby player, Bressie won’t be togging out for the swim, cycle and run.
He told the Irish Independent: “I’ve done a triathlon before so I’m fully aware of what it takes and the sacrifices you have to make.”
The triathlon raises funds for the Cancer Clinical Research Trust, headed by Professor John Crown.

The senator and oncologist said that despite the health service’s history of providing good access to anti-cancer drugs, there have been “clear hints” that this is an area that may be targeted by cutbacks.
