Jedward join Westlife farewell gig

JEDWARD will share the stage with Westlife at their final gig in Croke Park.

The dynamic duo have been added to a star-filled line-up to ensure chart-toppers Westlife go out with a bang.

The Wanted and UK group Lawson will also appear at the foursome's 2012 final farewell.

However, twins John and Edward are expected to attract a younger audience who may not be longtime fans of the boyband.

The boys are currently gearing up for their second pantomime season, Jedward And The Beanstalk, after their first panto attractive a massive audience.

A Herald competition for tickets -- and a chance to meet John and Edward -- is expected to repeat the success of last year. Tickets for Westlife's Friday, June 22, concert are expected to sell out within minutes when they go on sale tomorrow.

Demand

Some 80,000 places have already been snapped up for the last gig on June 23 -- such was the demand to see Kian Egan (31), Mark Feehily (31), Shane Filan (32) and Nicky Byrne (33) take to the stage at the venue that organisers decided to add a second date.

"It was unbelievable how quickly they sold out their first concert. We always knew there was a lot of interest in the gig but the reaction took everyone by surprise," said an insider. The Wanted say they are delighted to have been included in the line-up.

The band's Irish star, Siva Kaneswaran, said that it was "awesome".

The Wanted, comprising Dubliner Siva, Nathan Sykes, Tom Parker, Max George and Jay McGuinness, have made a big splash internationally, supporting stars like Britney Spears and Justin Bieber.

Westlife announced last month that they would be splitting up to spend more time with their families.

Their manager Louis Walsh told the Herald that the pop stars first mooted the idea of splitting a year ago -- but only came to a definite decision in the last three months.
